These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all services, products, consultations, and transactions provided by Jodie Prymke Fine Art Framing (“we”, “us”, “our”). By making an appointment, placing an order, paying a deposit or consultation fee, or using our website, you (“the Client”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Nature of Services
We specialise exclusively in conservation (museum-grade) picture framing, art cleaning, art restoration, frame restoration, French matting, and related specialist services. We do not provide general or commercial framing. All work is performed to the highest archival standards using conservation-grade materials (including Tru Vue Conservation Series glazing with 99% UV protection as standard, and other premium materials).
2. Appointments and Consultation Fee
-
Appointments are by arrangement only (Tuesday–Friday 11am–4.30pm; Saturday 10am–2pm).
-
A non-refundable design consultation fee of $100 applies to custom framing enquiries. This fee is fully credited against the order when a deposit is paid, and the related order is placed.
-
The consultation fee does not apply to enquiries solely concerning art cleaning, art restoration, or frame restoration.
3. Quotes, Orders and Deposits
-
All prices are quoted in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.
-
Conservation framing typically starts from $500 (most clients invest $700–$1,200+). Painting cleaning starts from $350; painting repairs/restorations from $800; frame repairs/restorations from $500. Final prices depend on materials, size, complexity, and design.
-
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required for all custom picture framing orders. Work will not commence until the deposit is received.
-
Deposits are non-refundable because each frame is made to the Client’s unique specifications and materials are ordered specifically for that job (often from interstate or overseas). Custom frames cannot be resold.
-
The balance is due on collection or before delivery/shipping.
4. Payment Methods
We accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, and direct bank transfer. A 12-month lay-by plan may be available by prior arrangement.
5. Turnaround Times
-
Custom picture framing: usually 1–3 weeks.
-
Art and frame restorations: typically 3–6 months (depending on complexity and materials).
-
We will notify you by text message when work is complete. Times are estimates only and may vary due to material availability, complexity, or unforeseen circumstances.
6. Collection, Storage and Uncollected Goods
-
Completed work must be collected within three (3) months of notification.
-
Items not collected within three months may be disposed of or sold to recover outstanding balances.
-
Alternatively, storage fees of $20 per day may apply at our discretion.
-
Risk in the goods passes to the Client on collection or, if delivery is arranged, on delivery.
7. Client’s Artwork and Items
-
The Client warrants that they own or have full authority to entrust the artwork/items to us.
-
Upon receipt of the Client's artwork or items, and after the Client has left the premises, we take detailed condition photographs for our records. These photographs document the condition of the item(s) at the time of acceptance.
-
We take all reasonable care of Client property while it is in our possession. We maintain public liability insurance which includes cover for works in our care. Nevertheless, Clients are strongly advised to maintain their own insurance for valuable items, as our liability remains subject to the terms of our insurance policy and these Terms.
-
We will not trim, glue, or otherwise permanently alter original artworks in a way that breaches the artist’s moral rights under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) unless expressly instructed in writing by the Client (and only where legally permissible).
-
We reserve the right to refuse work that we consider unsuitable for conservation framing or that poses an unacceptable risk.
8. Design, Materials and Variations
-
Designs are created in consultation with the Client. Once approved and the deposit paid, changes may incur additional costs and/or extend turnaround time.
-
Minor variations in colour, texture, or finish of natural materials (timber, gold leaf, hand-finished mouldings, hand-embossed mounts, etc.) are inherent and do not constitute defects.
-
Hand-crafted elements (e.g., embossed mounts, French matting, gilding) may show minor irregularities; these are characteristics of the handmade process.
9. Cancellation
-
Consultation fees are non-refundable.
-
Custom framing deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has commenced.
-
Cancellation after work has begun may result in the Client being charged for materials and labour already incurred.
10. Liability and Limitation
-
To the maximum extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), our liability is limited to the cost of re-performing the services or refunding the amount paid for the affected services.
-
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss, including loss of value of artwork, emotional distress, or loss of opportunity.
-
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Intellectual Property
All designs, concepts, photographs of completed work, and content on our website remain our intellectual property. Clients may not reproduce or use our designs commercially without written permission.

We will not sell or share your information except as required by law or to complete your order (e.g., payment processors). Condition photographs taken of Client items are retained for our records only.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of your order or appointment will apply.
